3 Disc Deluxe Limited Edition (Germany)

I was thinking it was about time I did a review on a set that is very hard to find, high priced and limited just to 500 copies. I'm talking about the German Deluxe edition of Natural Born Killers. I had this box sealed in my shelf and finally got around to write a review. I also read that some of our members wanted a review on this. So here it goes:
For those of you
that have not heard about this edition this is a 3 Disc Deluxe German
Edition with a bust of Woody Harrelson's character in the movie
There has been made two editions of this box, 500 copies with a
black bust and 500 copies with a white bust. You are one lucky winner
if you got them both. The box itself is
all black with "Natural Born Killers -Director's Cut" written in
big red letters both on the front and on the side of the box. On
the back you have the technical information about the DVD and some
information in German. The box is made of cardboard and that includes
also the compartment where the bust is placed. The thickness of
the cardboard is not very thick but it will hold the DVD and bust
good since the bust is not that heavy. However the corner of the
box can easily be scratched if you are not to careful. My opinion
is that they could made the box itself with a thicker material since
it includes a bust and just for protection.

In the middle of the box the designers has cut out a sort of compartment were the bust is visible .I got the edition with the white bust and got myself nr 274/500.On top of the compartment they have printed images of a map. The bust are placed in the middle of the box and it can easily be moved around. It`s not like it is glued on or anything, because the meaning is that you have a choice. The bust can be housed in the compartment made specially for it or you can take it out and place it on the shelf. I prefer having it in the box since it looks much better that way. |

At first you think that the box is big, I know I did. I was surprised when I saw how little it was. It measures 19 cm width and 14 cm height ,so standing up it is the same size as a normal DVD. You can easily slide away the slipcase and get access to both DVD and bust. But when you do this please be careful so you don`t loose the bust while you are taking out the DVD. Handle it carefully. |

Like mention before I got the white bust. The only colour that they put on is red on the sunglasses and on his jacket. Nothing more than that. But still nice looking bust and nice addition to the box. |

The bust self is not very big, smaller than ad DVD size but an ok size. This set is numbered and they have put the number on the bottom of the bust. |

The DVD that comes along with this box is a 3 disc edition (digipack). I guess the 3 disc DVD edition is the reason for calling this set "Deluxe". The cover art is the same as all the other regions, plain white with Woody face printed on it. The red letters that you see on the front cover of the box is also used on the cover of the DVD. Along with the DVD comes a 5 page small booklet. All the information is on German though. The booklet contains info on the director, actors and of course about the movie |

It contains 3 disc where disc 1 is the movie and the other two are bonus materials. To mention some of the bonus on those two discs you got "making of, deleted scenes, interviews, bloopers, trailers and documentary". |

There is a DTS track but it is on German. They could have made the effort and included a English DTS track also, that is the only complain I got. But I also know that when I buy movies from Italy, France or Germany that the DTS track will mainly be in their own language so not a big surprise really. |
I guess most of the people who bought this set bought it because it is limited and numbered or because this is the best edition to buy, no doubt about it-I think both reasons are very good explanations to why you should own this movie in this Deluxe edition. This box set is Out Of Print in every shop, if you are lucky you can get it German aftermarket. So...start and save dear forum members because if you are a true collector you should own this.

The bust is made of ceramic and it`s very light.It s well made with nice details and of course a excellent addition to this Deluxe Edition.I like the fact that they put the number on the bust instead of the box.It is the same cardboard used on the box,the dvd and the compartment for the bust.Could have been made a little thicker.

You get a 3 disc edition with alot of bonus materials.What more can you ask for?If you are a fan of this movie and wants as much extras you can get.No doubt about it,this will be the edition to get.The bust is also one more reason to get this edition and it is a nice extra.
