The Bourne Supremecy
Limited Edition Box (Korea)

written by Juice / photos by Juice

This limited edition packaging comes from Korea. Only 2000 copies were created, featuring an exclusive compass that is embedded in the front of the set.

The Bourne Supremecy LE comes in a size effecient box which holds the two DVDs in thier perspective cases. On the front of the box, held in by glue, sits the compass that comes with this LE.

The compass is silver, and has what looks like a bullseye pattern engraved on the exterior. It flips open by use of a small knob situated on the cover. The cover is a bit flismy, as the metal is a tad thin. The compass itself seems to work, but not very well, as it gets stuck and you have to shake it to readjust. The tip of the compass glows in the dark.

Looking a bit closer at the box, I realized that it's actually comprised of two pieces. You have your box that the 2 DVD cases sit in, and glued on top of that is a thick piece of paper that has a cut out area that the compass sits in.

I didn't remove the compass from the front portion of the set, since it appears this would damage the set and would stop you from being able to store the compass in the front as it's placed. If anyone has this set and has removed the compass, please confirm with me if it can be placed back in the front and not fall out.

The two DVDs (one of each movie) come in their own custom cases. A flap folds over the inside art, adorned with the quote "Matt Damon is Jason Bourne". Fold the case open, and you get a three panel spread, complete with movie stills.

Slipped inside the "Bourne Supremecy" DVD case is a one page, folded flier/booklet. It is titled "Bourne, Mission Code Book", and 5 missions inside highlighting Special Edition bonus material. 95% of the content is written in Korean (only the titles are in English).

This set retails for a fairly low price, considering it contains both movies and is a limited edition. For below $45 US, if you're looking for something a bit different and would like both movies packaged together, this is a fine option.

- Juice's Verdict -

- Build Quality: 7 -

Sturdy, but my copy did arrive with some edge damage, and this box is simply that, a heavy, cardboard box designed to enclose 2 DVD cases and house a metal compass. The compass itself is on the flimsy side, constructed of thin metal, and doesn't work very well.

- Content and Extras: 6 -

The only extras in this set are a compass and a flier. There isn't even a chapeter list. A bump above average rating due to the compass.

- Overall Rating: 6 -

Even though this has a 6 for a score, it's still a welcome addition to my collection. It's just above average for an LE, but it's much nicer than the keepcase editions that have been previously released.
