Mummy Legends Limited Edition Box (Korea)

written by Juice / photos by Juice

This limited edition set comes to us from Korea. Limited to a run of 3000, and containing the three hit movies "The Mummy", "The Mummy Returns", and "The Scorpion King". Rounding out the set are 2 DVDs stocked full of extras, bringing the DVD count in this Limited Edition box up to 5.

Sparkles! Colorful sparkles! This set, a fold out DVD case which sits inside a large slipcase, is extremely colorful. The exterior is printed on a bright, colorful paper that has a holographic 3D effect to it due to the different colors in the paper. I'm not sure what the point of this is, perhaps they are referring to how sand can sparkle in the sun...but it's an odd choice of paper printing for this set.

The cover lists this box set as the "Ultimate Edition", has the Mummy mountain range logo in the background, and lists the 3 movies contained in the set.

On the back of the box, the three movies and their perspective covers are shown, along with information regarding the discs contained within. Pulling the dvd box out of the slip case, you have the exact same cover without the sparkles.

On the back of the dvd box set is the LE number, printed directly onto the box. It's nice that they at least printed the number on the box, since there is no LE certificate, or even any note of this edition being limited.

The 5 DVDs fold out, with the images on the discs being replicated below them on their perspective slots. Flip the fold out over, and you get three panels dedicated to each of the three movies.

That's it. No booklet. No LE certificate. Just 5 DVDs and the slip cover.

- Juice's Verdict -

- Build Quality: 5 -

Standard thick paper, but with the weight of the dvds, the edges of the box can dent and damage fairly easily. The exterior scratches fairly easily. Note the first image on this review for the scratches, they take up the top 1/5 of the box.

- Content and Extras: 0 -

There are no extras.

- Overall Rating: 5 -

A flat 5. There is nothing bad about the set, it does it's job, is a limited edition, and at least is numbered. If you're like me and wanted all three movies in a nice looking package, than this is your set.
