Donnie Darko Collector's Edition (Germany)
written by Tsunami / photos by Tsunami
Heeeey-di-ho, I'm back with a little review on this german tin edition, I didn't write Limited Tin
because many sites and stores write this, but its incorrect, the edition is NOT limited and still
available over at Amazon.de, the correct name
is "Collector's Edition" :)
| So where to start? It's a German set so
I can start by adding some relief, this one does NOT HAVE FORCED SUBTITLES, like many other German
and French sets. On the other hand, the DTS track is ONLY for the GERMAN soundtrack. The english has a 5.1 track

Its a tin-edition so you pretty much get what you expect, something just a little better than regular digipacs.
But still it has the old ugly keepcase inside. This one does not have any booklet like the 8 Mile set did, but on
the other hand it has a second disc full of extras unlike the 8 Mile being a single-disc, so I it evens out.

The tin cover is as with the 8 Mile set, just a port from the keepcase cover.
But its nicely done, the whole bunny-head and the title is embossed and feels nice,
high quality print on the picture as well. On the back they have simply printed out the
backside of the keepcase cover and glued it on the back of the tin, cheap way to do it and
not that nice a way to go about it.
- Tsunami's Verdict -
- Build Quality: 7 -
A tin is a tin, and this is not an extraordinary
one, but just about a nice addition to you're collection, in my personal opinion its nicer than the
UK Limited edition of the directors cut, and the original cut is after all the best cut of the movie.
- Content and Extras: 3 -
No booklet like the 8 Mile set, but a second disc full of extras evens it out.
- Overall Rating: 4 -
