Hey ya'll. Time for my first review and what better to review than the latest
and hottest of all dvd releases; The LOTR Trilogy Box. Brought to us by Deltamac
Taiwan, and limited to only 2.000 copies

The box comes triple-packed. First there is the carboard-box from the store.
Then there is a cardboardbox from Deltamac, and then there is a plastic protective casing outside the box itself to protect the
slipcase to the wooden box from scratches and other damage. So you can say its pretty well protected so far.
The slipcase is pretty cool, and a nice easy touch with the "window" so you can
see the engraving on the box, allthough i'd wish the slipcase would have fit the
box better. It seems just a tad to slack. Its not a biggie, and on the other hand,
had they made it to tight, you might end up tearing the whole thing to shreds in sheer frustration.
Nice art on the slipcase, like pictures of every major character in the movies. And some scribbelings
on the bottom part which are printed in a gold-letters. Nice allthough I don't know what they are
jabbering on about except "DVD".
So it was time to pull off that slipcase and get it on with the box, in a reviewing aspect.
To put this mildly, for once I wish I could focus on several things at once. Because this is
probably THE sexyest and most detailed box I've ever seen. With a real classical feel to it.
Smooth and sexy, I gently felt with my hand across the lid, still in a reviewing aspect.
Engraved on the lid is "The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy - Relive the Journey on DVD".
Around the lid and the bottom plate there is a fine pattern that goes all the way around the
box, and right below the top plate on the box there is a metal, im no metal expert but it looks similar
to brass, and also has a pattern that goes all the way around the box. Extremely nice details.
So, there is a locking mechanism, ofcourse there's an locking mechanism.
Which is pretty simple and genious and fits nicely into the design.
A rotating hook, that locks the lid perfectly in place, no room for movement.
On the other side of the box there are two solid hinges which doesn't
look overly nice, but doesn't look ugly either. They don't stick out,
but merges nicely into the classical design.
About time to look inside you say? Well not yet, there's one more thing i'd like to show you.
One of the first thing I noticed was actually on the bottom plate. When you turn it over, you find
the nice New Line Cinema and Deltamac logos printed in black, and further down you find the text:
"*Promotional use only, not for sale*". Strange seing how this release does have an UPC code on the
slipcase, which is designed for the box. My thoughts are that this was intended for promotional use.
And when it was put out for sale, they simply forgot to remove this text.

Opening the box, even more of Deltamac's good attention to detail is revealed.
The inside is covered in a black nice velour imitation, on the back of the lid
again we see the text "The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy"
printed onto the velour-imitation in gold. The extremely nice slipcover previously only
available for order for US residents holds the 3 Extended Edition DVDs.
The perfect touch the an almost perfect release
A little bag with the LOTR text printed in gold, containing playing cards is also included.
Allthough I had wished they had added the LOTR prop replica ring,
considering how expensive this set was that really wouldn't have been too much to ask.
Solid! There is not one weak point in the construction, with its protective plastic casing and cardboard-box this baby is built for shipping. And yet they manage to do this without having it interfere with its classic design. Bravo, Deltamac delivers once again!
Contains the three Extended Editions, 12 DVDs all together packed with extras and DTS-ES tracks. The formerly US exclusive slipcover to hold the 3 EE's and a little white bag with LOTR themed playing cards. The reason I'm not giving it a 10/10 is because for the price I expected more extras, like the LOTR replica ring.
Absolutely up there with the best of the best. A must-own for every LOTR-fan and a must-own for every LE collector with respect for his own collection :)
